The path that I choose to follow has to have heart, it has to require courage, bravery, thoughtfulness, and time and space for healthy, reflective discomfort.
It has to be rich with the bittersweet juiciness of life.
It need not be prosperous in material reward, tho’ it must be prosperous for my character, rewarding my heart and soul with riches of experience, self-reflection, tears of joy, and depth of sorrow, to learn to understand, to leave room for new ways of thinking, to “see”, to discern with compassion and awareness.
My path must cross the boundaries of my own ignorance, shallowness, fears, and comfort least I get disillusioned and bored with my own ego.
Grant that I may be given appropriate difficulties and sufferings on this journey so that my heart may be truly awakened and that my practice of liberation and universal compassion may be truly fulfilled.
